The new 7 series equipped RC tanks from Heng Long are well and truly making their way out into the world now. This 'Version 7' is yet another revision of the MFU by Heng Long. I have been playing with a TK7.0 over the last 2 weeks or so and wanted to add a little article on here, explaining the key differences and what is new in this latest MFU from Heng Long.
What's New
- Ability to disable the BB system from the radio. This lets you just hear the canon sound when firing main gun. I like this feature.
- Adjustable braking - choose from 3 options depending on tank.
- Pivoting speeds are now adjustable. From turning on the spot to having an actual pivoting radius
- Adjustable turning curve radius.
- Two different MG sounds - Co-axial and cupola MG's selectable via the radio.
- Radio Reset feature - You can reset the radio/tank settings to a factory setting.
What's Different
- There are now only 2 sounds sets instead of the 4 that were available on 6.0s. They are M1 Abrams and Leopard 2A6. These sounds have been updated and sound a little different to the TK 6 series.
- The Tank hull recoil now has an extra level of adjustment.
- Volume adjustment from the radio now means holding down the 'V' button and using Stick 1 for increase/decrease/off.
Other features from the TK 6/s series are carried over, including the 1 stick or 2 stick control option, the adjustable top speed, and the optional Dual current motor control.
Overall, there are improvements to let you make the tanks more 'realistic' and less 'RC'. The lack of different sound sets is a little disappointing when coming from TK6.0/s, especially if you want to put one of these in a WW2 era vehicle, but the sounds that are on there, sound pretty good.
